If you’re interested in the Chinese lunar calendar and reading which “animal” you are. You might also be interested in the Mayan calendar and your “nawal” (also spelled nahual or nawual). Your nawal requires your birthday and year, not just the year you were born in. According to my teacher, your nawal repeats every 52 years so we won’t be seeing someone with the same one for a very long time. Each nawal has a number and a symbol/animal. Mine’s
Su Nawal es
1 Tz’i’
Which means 1 and coyote, or dog. While you personally have one nawal, there are 4 others that protect you on your left and right, and back and front. The nawal that is behind you represents the day when you were conceived and the one in front represents the one that will pave the way for you in the future.
To find yours,
The last website uses a different Mayan language. For example, my nawal is Tz'i' but the Tzolkin website calls it Oc. The two mean coyote.
